I've finally decided to enter the blog world..... What is this? An information panopticon, wherein we are increasingly being surveilled by an invisible big brother? A weapon of liberation, whereby new links are constantly created in networks which can help bring about change? Or the latest status symbol of a new educated middle class trying to assert its identity? Are the bloggisti the new 1968 generation?
Anyway, I hope to use my blog to communicate random thoughts on current events, books I've read, music I've heard, etc.. etc..

I feel honoured that I have created my blogger on the same day as the Great Mike...
The blogger as a 'status symbol' is an interesting notion... I never considered it from this perspective, but then again, I did not know what blogs were until I stumbled on Guze Stagno's blog last week. But then that's moi, always a bit backwards in these 'status symbol' thingies... For example, I'm still using my first ever purchased Nokia mobile, which I only got about four years ago...
Cheers... Re. being a bit backwords-- yeah, me too, I think I have some Luddite tendencies in me... I don't know how to drive, I don't download MP3s (I buy original CDs), and am missing out of many wonders of IT.
Or are they just a bunch of opinionated tossers with a penchant for intellectual/artistic exhibitionism?
